SMART is thrilled to announce its first Bus Roadeo in over 20 years, taking place on Sunday, September 7th, at the Suburban Showplace in Novi. This competitive event allows public transit operators and mechanics to showcase their remarkable skills through a series of timed challenges and maneuvers. Participants will navigate obstacle courses that replicate real-world driving scenarios, demonstrating safety, precision, and control. 

This event celebrates the skill, accuracy, and professionalism of our transit staff, reinforcing SMART’s unwavering commitment to safety and service excellence. Through a partnership with DDOT, the top performers from both agencies will earn the chance to compete in APTA's International Bus Roadeo in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2026.
